This week's bulletinThis week's hymns and intro videos on the books of the Bible we're studying:
Friends, it's been a tumultuous week and I, like many pastors, have had a difficult time processing how on earth to preach and pray this week. Tomorrow or Tuesday, look for another blog post in which I will share links to audio and manuscripts from sermons preached in a variety of churches all over the place to help continue our mission to listen to the stories of others. Below is this morning's scripture, manuscript, and other helpful information. You will also find this week's youtube playlist of hymns and other helpful video resources. After the service this morning, you'll find the sermon audio here.
Blessings, Pastor Charissa Today's Bulletin
Good morning, saints! Below you will find the manuscript from today's sermon, as well as the scripture passages, reflection questions, and the prayer of the day. You can use this to reflect throughout the week. You will also find a youtube playlist of this morning's hymns and some great videos of introduction about the passages from this morning. After church, the audio of this morning's sermon will be available here. You can find this morning's bulletin here.
One of the things you can do to begin preparing your heart for worship on Sunday is to listen to and/or practice the hymns ahead of time. Another is to do a little research or reading in the books of the Bible that come up in this week's lectionary.
"But Pastor. . ." you might be thinking, "Where do I find those things?" Aha! I have just the thing for you, dear friends! You can start by watching this youtube playlist I've compiled with this week's hymns, as well as some great intro videos on the books of the Bible that come up in the lectionary this week. You can also check out the scripture passages and reflection questions throughout the week just below this video playlist. Enjoy! This weekend, starting on Friday afternoon, Elder Carla and Pastor Charissa will be serving at the 7th Kairos Outside of Western PA retreat weekend. This is a moving and important ministry to women with incarcerated loved ones. You can find out more about this ministry at: http://www.mykairos.org/programs_ko.html. Carla and Charissa would appreciate your prayers this weekend. The goal is to have 24/7 prayer coverage, and you can sign up to pray here: http://www.3dayol.org/Vigil/GetVigil.phtml?pvid=12690&commid=1709
If there's one thing we love at LPC, it's our furry family members! Join us on October 8th at 4 pm in the side yard by the sanctuary for a celebration of God's creation! All leashed or crated pets are welcome to join us for this short prayer service.
